It's true that they often say 'da-' before 'ma-', but as every dad knows, they know what they're saying. Definitely!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but even if he did say da-da first, Sarah still wins. She gave birth. She will always win. That's payment for having to endure the torture known as labor.

Oh, I miss baby neck fat. My kids both said da da first. My husband, Yankee that he is, used to make fun of me and my sisters for still calling our dad Daddy, until he had a daughter of his own. He had to admit that he loved it and wants her to call him that forever. She's 13 and still does.

that's awesome! Jake said Dada first too, and I was pretty happy about that because he was such a mama's boy and I felt like he was finally giving his dad some props!

My personal favorite spot is behind the ear neck. :) I said da-da at 5.5 months, and no one believed my dad (I said it to him as he walked in the door on the day he got laid off) then I said it in front of everyone one at Thanksgiving a few days later! Even my grandpa told that story and he was my Mom's dad!

I think Maddie's first word was da-da, but it quickly mophed into Da-ee (daddy). Ben's first word was ah-da (all done) of course to do with food.
